Well, for drop top caddys it's this, XLR, or 1970s and earlier. I think I'd find an old eldorado or coupe deville rather than taking this on.

NP if you have the tools and skill already to fix the issues. Allantes will go up in value at some point and this seems like a bottom price for the car. Even if it is garbage, the pre-northstar V8 isn't a terrible beast to work on and if the car has been decently maintained, the paint and body are likely in good enough condition that a full tear-down restore isn't necessary for it to appreciate in value.

Hmm just read this article:
http://www.ebay.com/gds/Buying-a-C…

It's actually quite an interesting car and had somewhat low production run... I'm not sure if it's the kind of car that will increase in value, do you think it will because of it's limited production and many features (for the time)?

Here's something humans suck at - perception of time. You know how everyone goes apenuts over the old bel-air? It was a standard econo-box in its time. Given enough time and nostalgia, a surprising number of cars will go up in value as a "classic". Think about all the people now selling cherry germlins and pacers ad vegas and pintos. Those cars were shot to hell and back when they launched but in some circles, a good one is worth a ton of coin. So the limited run Allante which also has the appeal of being one of the few roadsters in cadillac's history will also appreciate at some point. It has a unique history, it has unique styling, it represented a milestone for the company that built it, and it was made in limited numbers. If it never becomes collectible, then I give up on cars.

Haha you've convinced me, I am finding this car more and more interesting, haha.

I mean does any car out there have nicer looking trunk-lining?

Kinja'd!!!

This is from a '93, it had the 295 horsepower Northstar, this one is going for $10k!
